Kubota tractor and flail mower – ideal for orchard or pony paddock
The tractor is the L245DT model with the 24HP engine
The Twose flail has the “Y” shaped flails which i am told give a neater cut than the chain type flails. The cutting width is approx 40 inches (1 metre)
Engine starts and runs well, all forward and reverse gears work in both high and low ratio. PTO all working and Flail serviced and greased up ready for use. The flail gives a decent cut and has been used for my lawn. All hydraulics go up and down well. PTO shaft included in sale. Good battery.
Hours clock works and rev counter as shown in photos – shows a total of 1153 hours and engine sounds nice and revs well. No significant oil or hydraulic leaks. Running in the photos at about 600 revs
Tyres are really very good.
Negative points:
The four wheel drive leaver does not seem to engage four wheel drive – someone suggested it could be the selector fork but I have not investigated as works really well in 2 wheel drive and I have not needed any additional traction
The paint job is a bit “DIY” – I think the previous owner did it with a paint brush
Lights don’t work
There is a weld on the front hub – seems to be nice and strong – shown in a photo – it was like this when I bought it
The windscreen wiper wiring is disconnected – not needed a windscreen wiper
Steering has some play in it but still goes in a straight line and steers fine
Just used it today on some overgrown nettles and docks in the corner of the field – the last photo shows them nicely cut down.
