Turner Ranger 4 Wheel Drive, 4 Wheel Steer tractor designed by Tractor Research, a subsidiary of Harry Ferguson Research. The tractor won a Design Centre award but was so expensive to produce that only around 250 were made. It has a BMC Mini 1098cc engine with BL axles giving 4 Wheel Drive,4 Wheel Steering & 4 Wheel Braking (Hydraulic) with independent suspension all round achieved by the use of Moulton rubber cones. It has cat 1 linkage on the back & provision for linkage on the front, all as used on the leyland 154 tractor. It does not have a PTO as this was an optional extra. Although most were fueled by calor some were run on petrol as is this one. I do not have any paperwork or history.
This turner ranger is in need of some work. The engine does NOT start but did have it turning over a couple of months ago. There are no lights. The wiring will need replacing. 3 tyres hold air and one goes down slowly. Fitted with tow as you can see in photos. We bought it as a project but never found time to do it.
